Dr Roy Spencer Censored by the Guardians of Politicised ‘Official’ Science?
On November 3rd 2008, two technical papers that Dr Roy Spencer had recently submitted to the journal Geophysical Research Letters were outright rejected in back-to-back emails and on the same day all 78 reviews of his book ‘Climate Confusion’ on Amazon.com were removed from that website. Ironically, this coincides with the publication of his Journal of Climate paper, blogged by Climate Research News here.
UPDATE: Book reviews now restored and increased to 82 – I guess the publisher may have contacted Amazon.
Regarding the two papers:
The first compared five years of satellite data to all five year periods from 18 climate models and found none that had the negative feedback the satellite data showed. The paper had 2 reviewers. One said publish after changes, the other was hostile to the criticism of the climate models:
The second paper, showed that the Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO) can explain most of the warming during the 20th Century. It had only one reviewer who, according to Dr Spencer, appeared to not understand how radiative forcing causes temperature changes:

Clearly the ‘official’ version of climate science is so weak and flawed that it has to be protected from objective scientific scrutiny by the likes of Roy Spencer.
Is this the beginning of the ‘Obama effect’ before he even takes office?

Why not just give up on the peer review ‘for political papers’ and do it all on the web. I would guess that the reviews would be far more insightful, thorough and are likely to produce soome surprising science.
Open science is real science.

I would say that papers not in the ISI database are ignored, but there again even those that are in it tend to be ignored or attacked if they don’t support climate alarmism.
I really can’t see a case for rejection here and publication would allow comments from other authors, if scientifically justified. That’s the way science used to be done

Left wing and Right wing Socialists have always censored Science. Rampant Lysenkoism is rife today within the left wing versions of “Science”.
National Socialists were well known for their “bookburning” parades and rallies.
The only thing in common is the Socialist creed that the only “Truth” is waht the current Party Line says it is.

National Socialists were well known for their “Pseudo Science” in measuring Ethnic skulls, feeling for bumps on the cranium had intellectual meaning, and digging for ancient swastika pottery to support their Racial superiority. The Book they burned was actual Science that didn’t conform to their Ideology.
