Nature Commentary on Silencing Scientists
A commentary in the journal Nature (12/02/09) concludes with the following paragraph:
“When scientists are silenced by colleagues,
administrators, editors and funders who think
that simply asking certain questions is inappropriate,
the process begins to resemble religion
rather than science. Under such a regime, we
risk losing a generation of desperately needed
research.”
Unfortunately, it apparently is only meant to apply to scientific inquiry about race and IQ, but it could equally apply to the current unacceptable climate science situation.
