Madness Blowing in the Wind: RSPB Supports Bird Mincers and Minister Brands Wind Farm Objections ‘Socially Unacceptable’
The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) has previously objected to wind farm projects, but has now released a report saying that more should be built:
There should be a significant increase in the number of wind farms built onshore in the UK, the RSPB has said.
It called for an end to the “needless delays” that beset wind farm projects, after a study said more turbines could be built without harming wildlife.
It would be “disastrous” if the vast potential of wind power in the UK was wasted, the charity added.
Ministers said the planning process was being “streamlined” to encourage a mixture of on and offshore wind farms.
In 2007, just 2% of the UK’s energy came from wind power, compared with 29% in Denmark, 20% in Spain and 15% in Germany.

Meanwhile, Canutian UK ’Climate Change Minister’ Ed Miliband is quoted in The Guardian as saying that, “Opposition to wind farms should become as socially unacceptable as failing to wear a seatbelt.”
For me, as an ex-RSPB member, it was a sad day when the RSPB formed the Stop Climate Chaos Coalition - attempting to manipulate atmospheric CO2, particularly unilaterally, is a useless way to try and help Birds.

I couldn’t agree more with you about the RSPB’s ridiculous stance.
Having joined the Stop Climate Chaos coalition they are now trying to fight the Severn Barrage plan.
You reap what you sow.
