No Such Thing as Cheap Green Power
Research from analysts Poyry says that the UK can massively expand wind power by 2030 without suffering power cuts or a melt-down of the National Grid. The cost of electricity would then be determined not by consumer demand, but by how hard the wind is blowing. But it comes with a warning. Dr Hare said: “It will cost more. There is no such thing as cheap green power – that is a myth.” BBC News website: Wind ‘can revolutionise UK power’

This is not true that there is no such thing as green power. What about solar power? The sun is fee… you cant argue with that!!
There are now companies that help to finance the cost of solar too.. so you dont need to worry about the expensive upfront costs. In Australia I have seen a company called Sunglow Finance and they let you lease solar hot water: http://www.sunglowfinance.com.au.
The end result is that your lease payments are less than what you would currently be paying to heat water using electricity, so you are financially better off from the start. Plus its good for the environment. So there you go, you can have cheap green power!

The sun and wind are free – but it costs more than fossil fuels to harness them, and they are intermittent. The UK is windy – but not too sunny!
