Another ‘Green’ Attack on Homes and Cars
The Green Fiscal Commission (GFC), a think-tank supported by the government (what’s new?), is urging £150 billion of new green taxes on businesses and households — including a £3,300 levy on new cars, a tripling of fuel duty over the next decade, and a household energy tax. The plans are being presented by Lord Turner, head of the committee on climate change — and chairman of the Financial Services Authority — who claims that the measures will result in a drastic reshaping of the tax system to curb greenhouse gas emissions and encourage investment in low-carbon technology.
CRN comment: Robert Napier, Chair of the Green Fiscal Commission (GFC), is ex-chief executive of WWF-UK and is currently Chairman of the Met Office – so he has strong links with climate alarmist organisations.
No surprises about the ‘green’ report author Paul Ekins either.
This is just another red-green attack on business, homes and cars in the false name of climate by the rich left, plus an ‘opposition’ party that can’t distinguish red from green or fact from fiction, who are all insulated from their own insane policies.
How about all MPs having one home instead of two and paying their own expenses rather mugging the taxpayer?
This ‘green’ hysteria, with more to come, is being caused by the UK’s CO2 emissions reduction targets that were arbitrarily set with little or no idea of how they would be achieved.
