Climate Change Belief Given Religious Status
A man has been told he can take his employer to tribunal on the grounds he was unfairly dismissed because of his views on climate change.
Mr Nicholson was given permission in March to make his claim under the Employment Equality (Religion and Belief) Regulations 2003 that covers “any religion, religious belief, or philosophical belief”.

CRN comment: I wonder if this ruling would also apply to Climate Realists who aren’t true believers in the Climate Change religion?
Mr Nicholson lives the life he has chosen for himself – he’s not a hypocrite by the standards of the likes of Al Gore – he and his wife have restricted themselves to one child, they cycle, they shop for local produce, they probably go on holiday in their back garden but, like most religions, there is a tendency to try and convert everyone else. Nicholson had tried to set up a carbon management system for the company, but was unable to work out its carbon footprint because staff had refused to give him the necessary data. Good for the staff – I’d have told him to mind his own business and get stuffed too!
Mr Nicholson also accused the chief executive, Rupert Dickinson, of showing “contempt” for his concerns and claimed he once flew a member of staff to Ireland to deliver his Blackberry which he had left in London. That’s an ‘eco-crime?’ What about the thousands of politicians and hangers-on who travel the world from climate summit junket to climate summit junket – now that is a waste, and hypocrisy!
